Mosaic Area Network

Ann became a La Leche League (LLL) Leader in 1994, and lives in the Dayton, Ohio area, where she and her husband raised four children. After completing her BA at the University of Dayton, Ann became a stay-at-home parent for whom volunteering was a career path. She has volunteered for LLL, schools, and museums during the past 40 years. Currently, Ann is volunteering for LLL and is serving on the board for the Ohio Breastfeeding Alliance, the USBC-connected state breastfeeding coalition. She also fosters dogs for a collie rescue. Her four grandchildren, two dogs, and husband also demand their fair share of attention. When not engaged with any of the above pursuits, Ann can be found with her nose in a book or newspaper, ignoring the world for a while. Within LLL, Ann has served in several administrative roles, including conference programming, LAD work, and Leader administrative support. She still finds the greatest reward in directly helping families to discover what breastfeeding/body feeding can mean to them.

Jen completed the Lactation Consultant program through the University of California San Diego with honours, having had her clinical practice in delivery and labour wards, NICUs, Midwifery clinics and in Child health offices working in an integrated healthcare team. Currently, she runs The Hamilton Breastfeeding Clinic in Hamilton, Ontario and volunteers on the LLL USA Council, sharing her passion for infant feeding and the WHO International Code. On Jen’s days off she is working towards her master’s degree in counseling at McMaster University, creating new recipes as a trained vegan chef, and can be found mountain biking through the trails of Central Ontario.

She has been an IBCLC since 2011 with experience in public health and private settings and became an RN in 2023 to allow more flexibility in her second career moving forward. Initially trained as an engineer at Rutgers, Sandy worked in environmental compliance. Personal experience has made her educated and passionate about lactation, elder care, invisible disabilities, and food allergies, inspiring some topics for state conference presentations for parents and Leaders. Sandy and her husband raised two amazing young adults who have taught them so much along the way. They look forward to more adventures ahead, even the plot twists. Sandy loves exploring nature and history with her family, especially in her local Pine Barrens. She is a fan of youth robotics teams, remaining a spectator while her family volunteers because she’s got enough on her plate!
