Out of the Mouths of Nurslings
Our readers’ clever nurslings are back with more sage advice and witty remarks in this edition of Out of the Mouths of Nurslings. Enjoy!
Grace recalls the time her daughter offered up a theory about Grace’s milk supply: “A couple weeks ago I was nursing my four year old, and she said, ‘Wonder why there’s not too much milk. Probably because you didn’t eat enough today. Grown up girls have to make sure they eat enough to make sides for their kids.’”
Emily F. writes: “My son used to tell me that he would nurse until he was 89, which was his favorite number at the time.”
Then there was the amusing conversation she overheard while spending the afternoon at an historical site:
“A family was sitting down in the shade to rest and have a snack. The toddler settled down in her mom’s lap to nurse and asked for ‘the cold side.’ The mother replied that she did not make cold milk. The toddler decided that the warm milk would be better than nothing.”
Has your child ever said something so clever, endearing, hilarious or simply surprising that you couldn’t help but share it with those around you? Out of the Mouths of Nurslings gives breastfeeding parents a place to share those words with readers around the United States and even the world.
If you’d like to share your memorable moment with readers of the New Beginnings blog, send a brief recap (picture, too, if you’d like!) to Amy at [email protected].
