A Mothering Question: Weaning From the Pump
My son is now 14 months old and I have been pumping my milk for him since I went back to work ten months ago. I haven’t minded pumping up until recently when I became friendlier with a few people at work. They all spend time together during our lunch hour, and I’m starting to feel stuck using all of my time pumping instead of being able to do other things that I want or need to do. Now that my son is older, how can I stop pumping and still keep up my supply and not get plugged ducts or breast infections? My breastfeeding relationship is very important to me. How do other mothers stop pumping and continue nursing their toddlers?
Have you found yourself in a similar situation? What ideas would you share with this mother? Please send your response to [email protected]. Your contribution may be included in an upcoming LLL USA blog post on this topic.
