Live, Love, Latch!® is a National Breastfeeding Month celebration created by La Leche League USA to highlight community support for breastfeeding, chestfeeding, and human milk feeding.
The theme chosen for 2025 is “Strength in Connection: Building a Village for Every Family.” To give life to this theme, the Live, Love, Latch!® team is introducing the new Village Voices Campaign, an initiative that collects real stories from parents, Leaders, and supporters about how their “village” has shaped their lactation journey.

Wondering what Live, Love, Latch!® events look like? Here’s what event hosts had to share about their past celebrations.
Kylie P. explained that her local La Leche League Springfield (Virginia) Group hosted their first Live, Love, Latch!® event in 2024. “We hosted a breastfeeding celebration picnic in a park near our normal meeting space. It was a hit with the families who attended! I was really pleased after the work we put in that we had a great turnout. Our event was simple, casual, and family oriented. We invited families to bring a picnic lunch, a blanket, and to hang out with us Leaders and other LLL families and families who were new to LLL. Big kids played on the playground, babies nursed, and families found community and celebrated their accomplishments. We had a DIY photo booth, nothing fancy, where parents could hold up breastfeeding “awards” and share them on their own social media to celebrate their nursing journeys. We also had a map of the world, where we asked attendees to put a mark wherever they had nursed a baby – I was impressed to see that our little roup has nursed all over the US and in many parts of the world! It was a simple day – but perfect for our cozy community.”
Rebecca M. reflected on the La Leche League of Fairfax City (Virginia) Live, Love, Latch!® events. “We loved our lowkey Live, Love, Latch!® We rent a pavilion, have chalk and crayons for kids and some giveaways that we’ve collected from community businesses. Often we get families who regularly attend LLL meetings, but we are always surprised by a few new families. It’s wonderful for families to connect around the shared interest of nursing. Breastfeeding parents can trade tips and so can their support people!”
Cara B. described what her Greenbush La Leche League group does to celebrate. “Each August, during National Breastfeeding Month we hold our annual community event called Live, Love, Latch!® It is a fun reunion of the families we’ve served over the years, and we have activities for the kids (story time, music, coloring, movement, and sensory stations), a picnic lunch, goodie bags, a raffle, photography sessions, etc. The event is free to attend, but as our fundraising component, we always have a raffle of lots of family and baby-related items, such as carriers, nursing bras, gift certificates to local businesses, etc. We expect between 150 and 200 attendees and cannot wait to see their smiling faces and how big their babies have grown!”
We hope you’ll find a local event and celebrate Live, Love, Latch!® To find more information and an event location near you, check out the map at https://lllusa.org/live-love-latch/
