LLL USA Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee
[Press Release]
La Leche League USA has created an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee whose goal is to enhance equity in La Leche League and to better serve breastfeeding families in all communities. The Committee is a diverse subset of Leaders who represent various perspectives, ages, backgrounds, and cultures, yet who all share a passion for this topic. This Committee is exploring the barriers that exist to parents of diverse backgrounds who seek support from La Leche League, and in turn, who may seek to become LLL Leaders themselves. The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee is in the process of sharing educational resources and gathering input from LLL Leaders through an ongoing discussion group which currently includes over 500 Leaders with more joining every day. Additionally, the committee is developing a cultural training program to be shared with LLL Leaders using a train-the-trainers format, through partnerships with organizations and individuals who offer expertise and experience related to cultural inclusion.
