Mother’s Day Tribute Festival
All week long we are sharing tributes, stories, and photos of those who have inspired or supported our mothering in a Tribute Festival on the La Leche League USA Facebook page. Be sure to stay tuned in! It’s going to be an inspiring week!
You can honor someone who inspired you or supported your mothering by adding your tribute to the festival!
Here are a few samples we’ve received:
“To honor a great mother and playgroup friend, Heather, who always had plenty of science fun at every play date. The children were always learning while playing. And we moms chatted and became lifelong friends. What were you doing with that gecko?” from Lonna
“Founder, Viola Lennon, and I had gone on a money seeking mission in NYC long before computers and iPads existed. When we got back to the hotel we tried to write out our notes, and there was a name of a very important person which neither of us could remember. Vi said, ‘Don’t worry, it is in here’ – pointing to her head. A couple of hours later she blurted out the missing name. Because we were able to follow up effectively, the company later made presentations at LLLI conferences! Vi’s theory was that no information is ever gone. It just rests until it is truly needed. I can’t tell you how many times a day I use that theory – Thank you, Vi, for that and much more!” from Helene
“I donated in honor of my mother. She is uniquely made to be my perfect mother, and she taught me that I am also made to be the perfect mother to my children.” from Marie
Add your tribute to the festival!
