Out of the Mouths of (Persuasive) Nurslings
If you have a verbal nursling, you’ve probably enjoyed some very entertaining remarks from them about the breastfeeding relationship that you share. Thanks to Rachel and Sarah for giving us a glimpse into this part of their parenting lives!
Rachel Chastain-Gross of Gainesville, Florida, writes: “My three-year-old wanted to nurse while I was working today. I told her no, not while I was working. She said, “But you just got to open the milk then you can work and I can just hold it in my mouth and that will be good!”
Sarah Russell of New Hampshire shared a different approach taken by her nursling: “My five-year-old wanted to nurse at bedtime and I said no at first as I was still in inaccessible day clothes. So she proceeds in a very matter of fact tone, “Mommy, you need to know something. I’m going to love you MORE if you nurse me.”
Has your child ever said something so clever, endearing, hilarious or simply surprising that you couldn’t help but share it with those around you? Out of the Mouths of Nurslings gives breastfeeding parents a place to share those words with readers around the United States and even the world.
If you’d like to share your memorable moment with readers of the New Beginnings blog, send a brief recap (picture, too, if you’d like!) to Amy at [email protected].
