My Breastfeeding Story in 100 Words (Or Less)

Anne Ferguson, Minnetonka, Minnesota

Originally printed in the Winter 2018/19 Northern LLLights (Leader Letter of LLL of MN/DAs)

Two thousand, five hundred and fifty-six days.

One day shy of seven years.

Nine hundred and twelve days of tandem.

Now, five years later it seems like a lifetime ago.

Will my boys even remember?

How quickly I forget.

“They” said they’d eventually wean themselves.

I proved them right. We did.

With so many challenges early on

I was able to appreciate the eventual ease.

The connection.

The multi-purpose tool in my toolbox of motherhood.

Savor the precious moments.

Soon they are just a tiny dot in the rear view mirror.
