Out Of The Mouths Of Nurslings: Story Time Thoughts

Toddler thinking while sitting on a chairRebecca R. shares this sweet moment from a recent trip to her local library:

“My three-year-old was so excited when our local library started up in-person preschool story time again a couple of months ago. He usually doesn’t sit still for long while the librarian reads, but for some reason, a couple weeks ago, he was captivated by the story of a little boy named Alexander who was having a pretty horrible day where nothing seemed to be going his way.

After the story was over and the other children and parents were walking over to the craft table, Jacob sat on the floor for a few seconds staring at the far wall. Then he stood up, turned to me and asked, ‘But Mommy, why didn’t the boy just ask for nursies? That would make him feel better!’”

Has your child ever said something so clever, endearing, hilarious, or simply surprising that you couldn’t help but share it with those around you? Out of the Mouths of Nurslings gives parents of nurslings a place to share those words with readers around the United States and even the world. Send your anecdotes to Amy at [email protected].
