World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) is recognized each year from August 1-7. This year’s theme is “Closing the Gap: Breastfeeding Support for All.” According to the World Breastfeeding Week website, “#WBW2024 will focus on survival, health and wellbeing. It will showcase the need to improve breastfeeding support to reduce inequalities that exist in our society with a special focus on breastfeeding in times of emergencies and crises.” You can learn more here.

While La Leche League USA observes World Breastfeeding Week this week, New Beginnings will be continuing to celebrate with special blog posts for each week of National Breastfeeding Month (August) and beyond (learn more here.) You can expect to see special stories and resources for each of the following weeks of designation:
