Oh, the Places a Breastfeeding Family Goes! Part 7
Life doesn’t slow down when you become a parent. In fact, the opposite seems to happen. And life, with a breastfeeding child in your arms or by your side, means you continue to explore the world while also meeting your child’s needs for nourishment—both physical and emotional—wherever you find yourself.
Lin Wapner shares a memory of nursing her daughter while flying high among the clouds. “The time that stands out in my mind was on an airplane. Sarah was about two at the time. She was underneath my shirt, with a little hand lazily moving about, when the flight attendant, a cheerful fellow, said, ‘Did you know you have a hand growing out of your chest?’”
Following are a few photographs that our readers have been kind enough to share, moments in their everyday lives that embody the comfort and joy that breastfeeding brings to the nursing couple.
Jennifer in Orlando, Florida, writes: “My three year old insists on ‘helping’ to feed her 10-month-old brother by doing breast compressions for me. Ha ha!”
“Breastfeeding my baby at Sea World! His brother was dragging us through the exhibits looking at all the animals. The turtles are my boys’ favorite, so I figured a picture with my son and a turtle would be great,” Katie noted of this moment with her then 10-month-old son.
Ashley in South Dakota shares, “We breastfeed on the ferris wheel at the carnival.”
